The themes will be specially oriented towards the possibilities of innovations brought by steel in bridges. The Millau Viaduct is a spectacular showcase for steel in bridges. With the complete steel superstructure: deck and pylons, this bridge is a record breaking structure in several fields: the multi cable stayed design, the deck launching on the temporary piers, the resistance to turbulent wind effects. The visit of the viaduct will be the highlight of the conference.
